Sponsored Run for Asthma UK

24 Hour Team Run for Asthma UK

Equinox 24 Hour Run

Some of our (slightly more foolish!) UK team will be taking part in the Equinox 24 hour run in September to raise money for Asthma UK.  Situated in the grounds of the beautiful Belvoir Castle the race begins at 12 noon on Saturday 23rd September and finishes at 12 noon on Sunday 24th September.

Situated in the grounds of the beautiful Belvoir Castle the Equinox race begins at 12 noon on Saturday 23rd September and finishes at 12 noon on Sunday 24th September.

We intend to have a member of the team on the track at all times, and run as many 10K laps as we can!  We will be running through the night and camping for the weekend.

It is safe to say that most of us are not exactly born runners (nor campers!).  We will be making a real fool of ourselves and making sure that we document as much of our embarrassment as possible for your entertainment!

Our Chosen Charity

We are running to raise money for Asthma UK; asthma is a terrible condition that we have become acutely aware of whilst working closely with respiratory teams in primary and secondary care, implementing FeNO Measurement for the benefit of asthma diagnosis and monitoring

Facts and Figures on Asthma’s effect in the UK

3 people per day die from an asthma attack in the UK, tragically two-thirds of these deaths are preventable

5.4 million people in the UK currently receive treatment for asthma

Every 10 seconds someone has a potentially life-threatening asthma attack in the UK

As you can see, asthma’s effect is devastating; the money we raise for Asthma UK will support nurses, support for patients’ families and research
